The person who sold me the car was pleasant and friendly, but the details of the deal kept changing. At some point he said it was all done and I had signed everything without ever clearly showing me the specifics of the deal. He also kept trashing the dealership saying he had worked at a very high end dealership before this one. When I was ready to pick up my car the sales guy said they could not have it detailed that day and I would have to return two days later. He also told me not to fill out this survey because they get points or something along those lines. He said they would do the survey themselves. I showed up two days later at the time they had told me. The person at the dealership had no idea who had sold me the car. They combine dealerships under one roof and have no idea who the people at other dealerships are. I texted the sales guy, who said I would have to wait three or more hours because the service department was very busy. They said I could leave the car and return the following day to pick it up, but they didn't offer a loaner car. I had to go a third time and still wait over an hour for my car to be detailed. The interior (white leatherette) was full of fingerprints and smudges, so I had to clean it myself at home. After the purchase, I called once because the salesperson had said he would show me how to set up the app and some of the features (and this car has a zillion features!) but the people who answered the phone didn't even know who the salesperson was. I've been calling for months to try to get an appointment for the service and they never pick up or return calls. In sum, this experience confirmed all the stereotypes about car salesmen (and they were all men). They are shady, wily, loose with the truth, and in this case, patronizing to a female customer. There is a Hyundai dealership in Vallejo, not far. Ask for a female salesperson. They xx less and if you are a woman, they will hopefully treat you with less condescension. Avoid this dealership!

Really poor experience . They won’t honor the Hyundai deal specials and tried to get away with hundreds of dollars more a month on a lease deal . When I questioned them , their manager Joel sent me a fine print which made no sense . After that , he accused me of not reading terms and started getting aggressive with CAPS text messages. Disappointing Experience at Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai – Misleading Sale, Poor Vehicle Condition & Pushy Upselling I recently purchased what was marketed as a “new” 2025 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid from Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai, and the entire experience was deeply disappointing. First, I later discovered that the vehicle was manufactured in September 2024. While it technically qualifies as a 2025 model, this was not explained clearly during the sale and felt misleading. I expected full transparency, especially with something as significant as the model year. Worse still, the car arrived in terrible condition for a new vehicle: • It was not washed • The engine bay was covered in mud • The gas tank wasn’t even full • The odometer already showed 96 miles That’s not acceptable for any new car purchase. It looked and felt like a demo car or one that had been neglected on the lot — not a fresh-from-factory vehicle. My sales rep, Joe’l Arances, was polite, but unfortunately didn’t ensure the vehicle was delivered in a presentable or customer-ready condition. That’s a basic expectation that was missed. To top it off, the finance manager Mohamed aggressively pushed a tire and maintenance warranty, making it seem like something I had to get — as if Hyundai didn’t already include a factory warranty. The upsell pressure was uncomfortable and made the process feel more like a sales trap than a professional car purchase. At this point, I can only hope the warranties — both factory and the ones I was pressured into buying — will be honored when needed. I expected more from a dealership representing Hyundai. This experience has shaken my trust, and I would not recommend Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai to others. If you do decide to buy here, inspect everything thoroughly, read the fine print, and don’t let anyone rush you — better yet, consider taking your business elsewhere.

This dealer has gone from 5 to less than 1 in the service department. A year ago, they were amazing—once I got through on the phone. My car had been towed to them (computer probs) and after repeated phone calls it was handled and turned out fine. But I have been trying to get two plastic pieces replaced because a rock hit me (still a $2500 repair not warranty) and I have been trying to get a return call or email since November 21. To be fair, the guy who did the estimate ghosted me and after 3 weeks of unreturned phone calls, someone finally told me on Dec 30 that he quit. But since then I’ve been in the hands of the service manager and she doesn’t return emails or phone calls. Repeated attempts both ways, and it is now Jan 30. Yesterday, I asked for the dealer’s GM—“not here”. Who is the person I can talk to about unreturned call and emails—turns out it’s the same person who doesn’t call back. Do not think you can count on these people after you buy a car. I don’t get it. They must be REALLY short-handed.

Got a great car here (an EV) and they were willing to negotiate to get my business. Most of the salespeople are knowledgeable. The dealership is not very transparent about their inventory and prices, which many other dealers have on their website. But I don’t know why because they actually don’t charge any of the junk fees and surcharges that a lot of other dealers will tack on. They’re pretty fair overall. And Hyundais are great cars.

My car had vandalism. They said my car is repaired but still has another problem that the key fub doesn't communicate with my car. went through the Costco Auto Program looking to buy an Ioniq 6, and I was assigned to Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai. I've neither bought a Hyundai nor an EV before, so I needed some education before buying. The end result from purchasing them made me regret going through Costco and saving $2,000.00 because the headaches and aggravation just wasn't worth it. If you want a Hyundai, don't buy from Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai, and here's why: 1) Salesman Joe'l Arances, in the beginning was polite and didn't seem to mind spending time with me; however, the more time I spent with him, the less polite he became. It got to the point, when trying to finalize the sale, he told me I was taking up to much of his time and he needed to work with his other clients. When picking up the car, he didn't even sit with me to go through the car pick up paperwork, he sat at his desk, had me and a friend at another table and he was texting me information because he was working with other clients. 2) Probably the biggest turn off working with Joe'l was during the sales process, he subtly asked me if I was open to selling my car to illegal immigrants for cash. After this, it was uncomfortable for me to work with him. However, Costco only has 2 Hyundai Dealerships in the Bay Area it works with and the other was in San Jose; so, I was stuck with him. 3) The Finance Manager, Zuheir Erakat, albeit new to the dealership, made buying this car the worst experience out of all the new cars I've purchased in my lifetime -- 6 cars. The main issues with the purchase were: 1) signing documents and not receiving copies of the documents in order; 2) incorrectly filled out documents; 3) no pamphlets for additional products ordered: a) Permaplate -- no brochure or confirmation the work was actually done; b) Hyundai Protection Plan Platinum Vehicle Protection Service Contract -- no brochure or confirmation the protection is active; and c) the Hyundai Protection Plan Vehicle Service Contract -- no brochure or confirmation the protection is active. 4) Picking up the car, was just as bad an experience as the purchase: 1) The car wasn't ready on time; 2) the car was dirty even after it was brought out; 3) after the second wash, the car was still dirty, but by then it was pointless for me to say anything since Joe'l was rude to my friend, who left dealership fuming, and was working with other customers. 5) The car was purchased on 2024.09.23, and to this date, 2024.11.16, the dealership has not responded to Costco's requests for information or my credit card company's request either for the information I wanted. If I could turn back time, I wouldn't have used the Costco Auto Program if this was the kind of service I was going to receive. However, to Costco's credit they are re-evaluating their relationship with the dealership. So, after reading this review, would you buy a car from Hanlees Hilltop Hyundai?

The fee charges for diagnosis of vehicle is too high, $255 whereas other dealership don't charge if you are a customer. Also, it took a whole day to diagnose my vehicle although I made early morning appointment; 9 am but my vehicle was ready about 4:30 pm. Why do they charge a storage fee of $150 a day if ones vehicle stays in their facility after repairs?

Technician was very helpful but I had to ask multiple questions to get help and had to ask to speak direct to technician. Technician was diligent in helping me find a temporary solution. Service dept assistant was much less helpful just kept telling me I'd have to wait, bring my car back, will call you later, not solution oriented at all.

They were understaffed to mechanics had called out to service check in people were not there. Cars were all over unable to move cars that had been dropped off without keys. Very shorthanded.

Told me my warranty was void before they even examined the car and my problem. Mentioned I had the 'wrong color coolant', but when I emailed her to ask why (twice), she never responded. Told me there was no problem with the car despite coolant leaking repeatedly. 2 days after picking up the car, I was stranded on the side of the road due to overheating. Took to a different dealer who pressure tested my cooling system and found a cracked radiator. Overall unpleasant experience.
